When arriving at San Antonio International Airport (SAT), there are a few things that are useful to know.
Smoking at San Antonio Airport
It is prohibited to smoke inside the airport. Designated smoking areas can be found outside the terminals.
WiFi at San Antonio Airport
Free WiFi is available for all visitors throughout the terminals.
Transfers at San Antonio Airport
Pick-up – Travelers may be picked up from curbside outside the arrivals on the lower levels of the terminals. Greeters may not stay parked here and should not leave the car if it is possible to avoid it. Greeters can wait in their vehicles in the Cell Phone Waiting Lot located next to the gas station a few minutes from the terminal.
Rental Cars – The Consolidated Car Rental Facility at San Antonio International Airport houses the available rental car companies. It is located next to the Short Term Parking Garage opposite the airport’s terminal buildings. It is reachable through the Sky Bridge on the Mezzanine Level of Terminal B.

Service is available 24/7, although not all companies are open at all times.
Public Transportation Buses – VIA route 5 runs between San Antonio Airport and downtown San Antonio from early morning to late evening all days of the week, with frequencies varying depending on time of day and day of the week. The journey takes around 30 minutes and costs $1.30. Tickets can be purchased on the bus, through the VIA goMobile app or online.
The bus stop at the airport is located at the far west end of Terminal B, on the outer curb on the arrivals level.

Taxis – Taxis at San Antonio Airport are found at the taxi rank on the outer curbside outside Terminal A, arrivals level. The journey to downtown San Antonio will take around 20 minutes and cost $25-$30 depending on the exact destination, or origin if traveling to the airport.
Hotel Shuttles – Some hotels offer airport shuttle services to their guests for convenient transfer to or from the hotel. These transfers are arranged in advance by the traveler. Some hotels offer a courtesy phone service to verify pick-up once the traveler has arrived at the airport. This courtesy phone can be found in a kiosk in the baggage claim area.

RideShares – To transfer using a Rideshare company, please arrange for the transfer using the company’s app or website. All companies that collect customers from the airport have to have a permit to do so.
Shuttles and Limousines – Shuttle and limousine companies that are approved and have permits may collect their customers from the airport. Transfers are privately arranged ahead of the time of the transfer.
Trains – The main train station in San Antonio is located less than a mile from the Alamo Plaza in downtown San Antonio and can only be directly reached from the airport by car. VIA bus route 5 from the airport will stop approximately a 15-20 minute walk, or a 5 minute taxi ride, from the train station. Hundreds of daily departures take place to more than 300 locations in total from this train station, including Amtrak’s Texas Eagle and Sunset Limited routes.

Greyhound – The closest Greyhound bus station is located only a few minutes’ walk from downtown San Antonio.

ATMs/cash machines can be found in various areas throughout the airport’s terminals, on both landside and airside.
Currency Exchange at San Antonio Airport
There are two points for currency exchange at the airport. Marcy’s Travel Center is found in Terminal A, near check-in in the Departures area, and a Currency Exchange Machine is located near TB Lobby in the Departures area of Terminal B.
Charging Stations at San Antonio Airport
Charging stations for charging mobile devices can be found in several locations around the airport, including near the Baggage Claim area of Terminal B and in Terminal A near the Waiting Area of the Arrivals hall.
Water Bottle Refill Stations at San Antonio Airport
Several points with stations for refilling water bottles can be found in various locations of the airport on both landside and airside.
Family Restrooms with Changing Tables at San Antonio Airport
Family restrooms with changing tables can be found in both terminals. Two can be found in Terminal A, one across from the Baggage Claim area on level 1 and the adjacent to Gate 12 on level 2. In Terminal B they are located in the Baggage Claim area as well as in the concourse between gates 3/5 and 4/6.

Baggage Carts can be found throughout the airport’s terminals as well as on curbside.
Interfaith Meditation Room at San Antonio Airport
People of all faiths are welcome to use the meditation room for a moment of reflection or tranquility. It is located in the ticketing lobby of Terminal B and it is open at all times.
Lactation Rooms at San Antonio Airport
The airport provides a few locations around the airport. One is in the ticket lobby of Terminal A, one near Gate A-16 and one in the food court of Terminal B.
Airport Ambassadors at San Antonio Airport
Airport Ambassadors are volunteers who are trained and highly knowledgeable when it comes to information about the airport, finding the way in the terminal building, hotels and ground transportation. They can be recognized due to their cowboy hats.
Pet Relief Areas at San Antonio Airport
Several service animal and pet relief areas are situated at the airport. One is outside on the lower level curbside, arrivals of Terminal B on landside. The other two are on airside, one near Gate B-6 and one near Gate A-14.
Food and Beverages at San Antonio Airport
The airport offers a wide range of options for food and beverages at the airport, especially on airside. On the landside there are some vending machines in various locations and there is a Dunkin’ Donut on the Mezzanine level of Terminal B.
