When arriving at San Antonio International Airport, please remember to collect your luggage from the baggage claim area before heading to your chosen means of transfer. There are several options available for transfer from the airport including rental cars, taxis and public transportation.

Public Transportation at San Antonio Airport

VIA Metropolitan Transit is the public transportation agency of San Antonio and they are offering their services throughout the city and the downtown area.

VIA bus route 5 operates between the airport and downtown San Antonio on a daily basis, although the frequency may vary during the days and on weekends.

The bus stop at the airport is located on the far West end of Terminal B with a clear mark on the column. After arriving at the airport go to the Lower Roadway housing the arrivals level and baggage claim areas and use the marked crosswalk to the outer curb and then continue to the bus stop on the far west end.

The journey to downtown San Antonio will take approximately 30 minutes. The fare can be bought on the bus and is $1.30 and bus transfers to other bus routes are available at no additional cost.

The VIA Day Pass for $2.75 gives access to unlimited rides on all buses and services for the day and can be purchased on the bus, online or through the VIA goMobile app for smartphones. The Day Pass can be purchased in advance.

VIA’s VIVA service offers stops at or routes to most hotels, restaurants and many visitor spots once in downtown.

Hotel Shuttles at San Antonio Airport

Many hotels offer an airport shuttle service to their guests; some are complimentary while others are for an additional fee.

These transfers are pre-arranged by the traveler or their representative in advance of arrival at the airport, or departure to the airport from the hotel.

Hotels may collect their guests outside the baggage claim area.

A hotel kiosk with a courtesy phone is located in the baggage claim area. This is for travelers to contact their hotel for specific information about the transfer, if the hotel offers this service.
